HSV Stigma: Solutions for Healthcare Providers
No Shame in this Game was screened for a monthly webinar for the CDC-funded NYC STI/HIV Prevention Training Center (housed at Columbia University) to provide sexual health related training and technical assistance to clinics and clinicians. We hold a monthly webinar series for clinicians in our region on various sexual health clinical topics and would like to invite you to present at one of these sessions.
The attendees were clinical providers across NYC PTC region (NY, NJ, OH, MI, IN, PR, USVI).
STI & HIV World Congress
No Shame in this Game was a featured presentation in the World STI & HIV Congress in Montreal, Canada.
Together with Dr. Ina Park, STI researcher, author, and anti-stigma advocate and Courtney Brame, founder and executive director of Something Positive for Positive People¸ a non-profit that produces a weekly podcast discussing a wealth of topics related to mental health and sexuality for those living with herpes simplex virus (HSV), we presented a 90-minute workshop that demonstrated the power of multimedia, filmmaking, and storytelling to diffuse STI stigma.
Participants will come away with a deeper understanding of the intersection of sexual health/mental health for people living with STIs and effective counseling messages that clinicans and educators can use for patients or clients living with HSV.
